“Challenges of Immigration Compliance”

(Asheville, NC):  The next regular meeting of the Western North Carolina Human Resources Association will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 8, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel in downtown Asheville.

The presenter for this program is Penni P. Bradshaw, a partner in the law firm of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC, who concentrates her legal practice in the areas of Immigration Law and Employment Law.  She is a magna cum laude graduate of Randolph Macon Woman’s College (Phi Beta Kappa).  She was awarded her Juris Doctorate Degree with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead Fellow and a member of the honorary Order of the Coif.

Ms. Bradshaw is a Board-Certified Specialist in Immigration Law and was named in the 2004 Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” as the top employment attorney in North Carolina.  A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Ms. Bradshaw has also been a speaker on both immigration law and employment law before the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the American Home Furnishings Association and the North Carolina Association of Public Accountants.

Ms. Bradshaw has also shown commitment to serving the needs of those in her community, as well as the needs of her clients.  In 2002, she was awarded the “Women of Vision” leadership award by the Forsyth County YMCA and recognized with the “Women in Business” award from The Business Journal.

The program is open to members, students and anyone interested in learning more about human resource-and management-related issues.  Reservations can be made by emailing Mike Neely at mneely@ingles-markets.com, or by calling 669-2941, extension 310.  The cost of attending the lunch meeting is $16.00 for members and students, $20 for nonmembers, and includes lunch (a vegetarian option is available by request when making reservations).

The Western North Carolina Human Resources Association is a certified chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management, and is comprised of human resource and other professionals from various area businesses and industries.  The purpose of the association is to develop the personnel function in each participating company by close contact and cooperation with others in the same field, to facilitate the dissemination of information of value to human resource professionals individually and collectively, and to promote positive human relations principles.
