“Challenges of Immigration Compliance”
(Asheville, NC): The next regular meeting of
the Western North Carolina Human Resources Association will be
at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 8, at the Renaissance Asheville
Hotel in downtown Asheville.
The presenter for this program is
Penni P. Bradshaw, a partner in the law firm of Constangy, Brooks &
Smith, LLC, who concentrates her legal practice in the areas of
Immigration Law and Employment Law. She is a magna cum laude graduate
of Randolph Macon Woman’s College (Phi Beta Kappa). She was awarded
her Juris Doctorate Degree with Honors from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead Fellow and a member
of the honorary Order of the Coif.
Ms. Bradshaw is a Board-Certified
Specialist in Immigration Law and was named in the 2004 Business
North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” as the top employment attorney in
North Carolina. A member of the American Immigration Lawyers
Association, Ms. Bradshaw has also been a speaker on both immigration
law and employment law before the American Bar Association, the North
Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the
American Home Furnishings Association and the North Carolina
Association of Public Accountants.
Ms. Bradshaw has also shown
commitment to serving the needs of those in her community, as well as
the needs of her clients. In 2002, she was awarded the “Women of
Vision” leadership award by the Forsyth County YMCA and recognized
with the “Women in Business” award from The Business Journal.
The program is open to members,
students and anyone interested in learning more about human
resource-and management-related issues. Reservations can be made by

The cost of attending the lunch meeting is $16.00 for members and
students, $20 for nonmembers, and includes lunch (a vegetarian option
is available by request when making reservations).
The Western North Carolina Human Resources
Association is a certified chapter of the Society for Human Resources
Management, and is comprised of human resource and other professionals
from various area businesses and industries. The purpose of the
association is to develop the personnel function in each participating
company by close contact and cooperation with others in the same
field, to facilitate the dissemination of information of value to
human resource professionals individually and collectively, and to
promote positive human relations principles.
