MINUTES – April 12,  2006

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Association held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Asheville.  Should you have any questions or comments, please contact  Rachel Bemis, PHR, our 2006 Secretary.

Opening:

The 4/12 meeting was an extended program on Wage and Hour Law, followed by a business luncheon.

Presenters were; John Maloney, DOL investigator; George May, Ford and Harrison Law Firm; and John Blaine, District Director of Charlotte DOL

The Vendor was Frank Pomeroy with Comforce Staffing.

Kim announced the following;

• Our chapter received the Superior Merit Award from last year.
• Donna Cator added information to the website about the state conference, flexible spending accounts, and special events.
• The Newsletter was done by Batina Smith and is also available at the website.
• Detailed survey results will be shared at the May meeting.

Denise Turner from RHA announced that she has an opening for a Benefits Administrator.

Ellen Westbrook announced that the is a new committee being formed for workforce readiness.  If anyone is interested they need to contact Ellen.
