MINUTES – December 14, 2005

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Association held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Asheville.  Should you have any questions or comments, please contact  Bridget Downey, PHR, our 2005 Secretary,

Introductions:

Carolyn Worthington, our outgoing chapter president, welcomed members and guests. As is traditional, the December meeting is devoted to induction of the next year’s officers and socializing.  Carolyn asked that each of us get to know the others at our tables by telling them three interesting things about ourselves, and having the others guess which one is not true.

Chapter Business:

Frank Pomeroy introduced the vendor for this month, Mary Bryan Robert, Director of Operations for:http://www.eannc.com/  E A N: Employee Assistance Network of NC; A non-profit provider of employee assistance programs, managed behavioral healthcare services and workplace-related consultation, training and education programs

Program:

Carolyn Worthington reviewed the numerous chapter accomplishments for 2005 and set forth some challenges for Kim Moser and her team to meet in 2006.  She also spent time thanking the chapter leaders who stepped in when needed, often filling more than one position, and were responsible for much of the chapter’s success.  The 2006 team has a head start, as programs are already scheduled for the first half of the year.

Carol Rovello presented Carolyn Worthington with a gift to express the chapter’s appreciation for all her efforts in 2005 – a Gift Certificate to Sensibilities Day Spa.

Frank Pomeroy and Diane Bailey-Brooks presented checks to this year’s scholarship award winners , Jennifer Olinger and Lena Krisciokaityte.

 With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the Renaissance.    Reservations are due by Friday, January 6, 2006, and can be made by contacting Mike Neely
