Carol Rovello announced that we
earned the 2006 SHRM Superior Merit Award. Also, a member renewal
letter will go out shortly for 2007.
Sonia Santana reported that there
were 12 new members in the month of June. Sonia is working on
creating Special Interest Groups for Manufacturing, Tourism,
Government/Non-Profit, etc. Next month the meeting will include
roundtable discussions based on these groups.

service spoke about this resource to find Health and Service Programs
in the community. (See our

Carol reminded the group about
the SHRM conference taking place here in Asheville in September.
There is also a 1-day conference in Greenville on 8/29/07 on the topic
“Winds of Change – Are You Prepared as an HR Leader?”. There is more
information on the WNCHRA website.
Presentation Speaker:
Ellen Westbrook introduced Todd
Weatherly, Executive Director of The Mediation Center who talked
about Conflict Resolution. The website for this center is located at:

Todd Weatherly shared his insight regarding conflict and provided
strategies for addressing it in the workplace. Todd is the Executive
Director of The Mediation Center, located in Asheville.
Todd offered copies of his presentation to anyone who would like to
email him at
tweahterly@mediatebuncombe.org. You can sign up for their
free newsletter on their site.
Todd also mentioned that
riverhousepress.org offers
an assessment package and leaders guide for conflict resolution.
Vendor of the Month:
Frank Pomeroy introduced the
Vendor of the Month, Stuart Kindland with
Medical Business Resources. He spoke about how to digitally
archive documents.
