“HR as CEO – e.g.,
Chief Ethics Officer?”
(Asheville, NC): The next regular meeting of the
Western North Carolina Human Resources Association will be at
12 noon on Wednesday, October 12, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel
in downtown Asheville.
Analyses of the ethical failures at
Enron, WorldCom, etc., have prompted a number of questions pertaining
to human resources. One of the first is where was HR in these
companies when all these abuses were going on? Another, more macro
question, is what role, ideally, should HR play when it comes to
ethical leadership? What are the practical limitations? This
presentation is intended to probe these questions and the implications
for HR professionals in their evolving role both as strategic partners
– and ethical leaders in their organizations.
